Tomorrow may as well be a big day

Tomorrow's to do list has a few very important things on it. I got lucky this week and my work schedule doesn't start until Wednesday so I'm free the next few days to finish my final painting, see Winnie!, and get shit organized in my life. As usual summer comes and it's not only my room that looks like a complete disaster but the general direction of my life falls apart (okay, that's a serious over exaggeration, but still). I think the confusion comes from the laziness of summer. I get busy doing nothing and the whole summer practically goes by without me having gotten anything done. I'm certainly not saying I have been doing nothing. I am proud of finally finding a job, and crossing a few other things off this list, not to mention the fact that I have had some really fun times during the last few months.
The last few days have included me+book+sun+hammock that I got for my birthday :), which basically equals the perfect summer day. I promise I will take a picture next time of it's beauty. Hammock's are so dreamy.

So anyway, back to tomorrow.

here's what we've got...
1. painting class (work on final painting/get most of it finished)
2. pick up more paints if needed, look for some new colors
3. get gas in the car (maybe this doesn't need to be on the list, but getting gas is something I always find a challenge)
4. go pick up paperwork for a passport! (this is probably the big one that I'm really hoping to fit in tomorrow)... I mean honestly, picking up paperwork shouldn't be that big of a deal. It seems like a bigger step than it probably is, but it's the first one toward everything I dream about.
5. call escuela
6. go downtown/slacklining with Sam
7. make list of things I need for next fall

welcome to life
peace out for now

Bring it back 90's

What up childhood? I think I'm just going to start a series of pictures of things from my childhood.
*Nsync was the bomb and totally all I listened to when I was a kid. Ok it was more like them, 98 degrees, Britney, Christina (because I saw her at the fair), and some BSB (but my cousin Hannah didn't like them at all and I told her I didn't because I wanted to be cool.... yup, go me). I still know every word to each song on all the *Nsync albums. I'm glad my range of musical interest and taste expanded greatly as I got into junior high and even more since then.

(just another treasure I found)

Is there anything you distinctly remember listening to as a child? What were your favorite childhood bands?

Forever

and ever and ever. I really have no words for how wonderful Part 2 was. Tonight was... amazing. I laughed, I cried, I may have clapped when Molly Weasley called Bellatrix a bitch. Even the 19 years later wasn't that awful.

Never forget, by the words of Jo Rowling.....

d-r-a-c-o:

‎”No story lives unless someone wants to listen. The stories we love best do live in us forever. So, whether you come back page by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.” -JK Rowling
More tomorrow, that's all my brain can handle tonight.

Harry: "You'll stay with me?"
Lily: "Always"
Sirius: "Until the end"

Not Quite Ready For Tonight

It's finally here, the final movie and truly the end of an era. I've heard the movie was amazing from friends who have already had the privilege of seeing it. Now I just have to go to work and wait until 12:02 tonight (and the multitude of tears that are bound to follow).

End of an Era by Oliver Boyd and the Rememberalls might be the very best wrock song there is.

Open at the Close is also very good. As well as Don't Leave by Ministry of Magic....

Yup, I'm a dork and like music about Harry Potter (no shame).

it’s the end of an eraand i’m seeing clearerthat nothing will everbe the same

Can't wait to see these three wonderful faces tonight for the final chapter. Ari and I are planning on grabbing dinner then heading over to the theater, we'll be at Horizon, maybe dressed up... maybe not.

Haircut Ideas

I'm really in the need for another haircut but can't decide what I want to do with it. Whenever I get a haircut it's one of things that only happens when I want to do something really different with my hair. I've never dyed, or highlighted, my hair ever and have been mulling that option over for a while. I go through stages of really wanted to go drastic and just do it, but something always holds me back because I love that my hair is natural and I've always been told that my natural highlights are so great (I just figure why mess with it). The new solution I've come up with is to follow the trend and dye just the bottom half of my hair as if the roots have grown out. I've been loving this style and it's so popular, plus I figure it won't damage my roots.

Here's a few pictures of what I'm going for.

For the cut, I honestly can't decide. I'd love to just chop it off and go Emma Watson short, but I know I'd look horrible like that. I also would not be able to dye my hair if I went that way. I'm thinking something medium/short length for now....
kind of like this picture of Rachel McAdams.

I could always go back to the good ol' Katie Holmes haircut I loved so much.

any ideas or thoughts?

Harry Potter Character's Questions

I found these questions via tumblr and decided to share my answers on here instead. Each character has a question and I will coordinate my answers with their name down below.

Questions:

Harry Potter: Tell about a scar on your body.

Ron Weasley: Something you're afraid of.

Hermione Granger: A subject you know a lot about.

Draco Malfoy: Closest green item to you.

Severus Snape: Your favorite alcoholic beverage.

Rubeus Hagrid: Your favorite animal.

Luna Lovegood: Something about you other people find weird.

Neville Longbottom: Your favorite flower.

Nymphodorah Tonks: Something you would change about your appearance.

Fred and George Weasley: The last prank you pulled on someone, or someone pulled on you.

Voldemort: If you were to make a Horcrux, it would be...

Moaning Myrtle: The last thing to make you cry.

Answers:

Harry: I have tiny scars on my left big toe from surgery. Most of the time I don't notice them but in the heat they swell up a bit and to me are really noticeable... well, I guess if you're staring at my feet they are.

Ron: Like Ron (and Rupert), I have a huge fear of spiders (or really creepy crawlies of all shapes and sizes).

Hermione: Dance. It's not exactly a school subject, but I have acquired a large amount of knowledge about dance, the history of dance, and certain dancers.

Draco: The closest green item is my body pillow. I LOVE how soft my body pillow is.

Snape: Well, seeing how I'm not yet 21 I probably don't have the widest range of choices, but it's probably a margarita or cosmo. Something mixed and fruity.

Hagrid: I have quite a few animals that I admire and love, but I've always said that if I were reincarnated I'd want to become a Hippo, so that's what I'm going with.

Luna: There's probably quite a few things about me people find weird but I guess the one I get a lot even with my actual friends is that I hate talking on the phone. I always leave really awkward voice mails and refuse to call to order pizza or make an appointment on the phone because I get so nervous... for lack of a better word. I guess it's just that I get uncomfortable.

Neville: I'm not the biggest fan of flowers but I really like Calla Lilies. I just think they're so simple and elegant.

Tonks: Out of anything the one single thing I would choose to change would be to have the same size (bigger) feet. Having really small feet, but having them and having two different sizes makes it really hard to find the cute shoes that I love. All I want is to be able to walk into a shoe store and pick out a pair of whatever shoe style I want and have it fit both of my feet.

Fred and George: The last prank someone pulled on me or I pulled on them?? Hmmm, I really don't remember. I'm not much of a prankster.

Voldemort: I think I'd choose my point shoes that I wore for Cinderella. Part of me will always belong to dance and Cinderella holds some of the best memories with some of the greatest people I know.

Myrtle: Watching the speeches given by the golden trio and Jo Rowling at the London Premiere of HP7 Part 2. I can't believe it's ending and hearing all of them talk about it made it that much more real. Jo Rowling thank you thank you thank you for bringing Harry, Ron, and Hermione into my life.

Seriously I wonder this.

5 Days

In 5 days... on Thursday night July 14th (or very early Friday morning July 15th) at exactly 12:02 am, I will be sitting in a most likely packed theater full of emotion watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. This film will be the last one of the Harry Potter series, marking the end of a huge and wonderful era that lead by Jo Rowling touched millions of people.

I haven't blogged in a while so I missed talking on Thursday about the premiere. If you did or didn't know, the world premiere of HP7p2 was on Thursday and was aired in 3D around England in theaters and live streamed on YouTube. I was lucky enough to tune in for about 45 minutes on that morning and then I unfortunately had to tear myself away to go to work. I was quite bummed that I was missing this big moment but was thrilled when I got back to my computer 4 hours later to find it had stopped and saved from where I was. Still, I missed some of the later part when the main stars spoke, which I'm trying to hopefully find somewhere online. The coverage started at 11 a.m. ET, and I was so glad I got to see Rupert arrive. It was very special to watch them all in this moment.... people that me and my friends basically grew up with and are the same age as. I definitely cried in the realization that this was the last time we'd be seeing the "Big 7" and all the others together. Harry Potter has influenced and changed so many people's lives and will hopefully never stop.

Here's just a few tumblr finds that I'll share...

They could not have casts 3 better people for these characters. They will surely go on to do even more amazing things.

The "Big 7"... Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna, Neville, and Draco.

erinastray:

heart. breaking.
Oh how time has passed.

tears... so many tears

mionewazlib:

LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFUL MY OTP IS.
HOW CAN YOU NOT SHIP THEM AFTER THAT?! I’M SO PROUD OF THIS SHIP. ;___;
Their relationship! Please be cuter.

This is by far my favorite edit because their speech is on it. :’) I want one with their whole speech though.

and one last one....

Rupert Grint at DHP2 London Premiere

OMG OMG OMG HNNNNNNNNNG

Yup... for the last 10 years Rupert/Ron has always been my #1 ginger crush. I love red heads.

Can't wait for 5 more days, this week is going to be so busy for me. I feel like I have so much to do in such a little amount of time. Also 8 days till MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Funny Independence Day Ecard: Let's proudly wave our American flags made in China.

Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July with friends and family. I know I've already spent a large chunk of mine at the beach. Man is it HOT out there today. So beautiful though!

(Reading Harry Potter at the beach in July makes my life 10x better....now if only I had a nice cool drink to go with it.)

Oh America.... I kind of can't wait to leave you, but I love you at the same time.

July, July

Today is the first day of July!!! So many good things happen this month and I just can't wait.

For starters, Cherry Festival begins this weekend. Bring it on! Sweet cherries, pie, beach, 4th of July, and walking anywhere and everywhere. There are definitely some big perks to living downtown during this time of year. I never have to fight for parking spots or worry about fighting traffic during firework nights. The only problems are the loud fighter jets practicing over my house, which often sounds like they're trying to dive bomb me while I'm trying to read outside. I also greatly dislike the huge number of tourist who overtake Traverse City; first: figure out the speed limits (seriously driving 10 under everywhere you go is not helping you at all), second: standing around and gawking at things in the middle of the street is probably going to get you killed... or at least hit (so I'd greatly recommend following all pedestrian signals). I always realized Traverse City was busy during this time of year, but I was amazed at how many people downstate knew of my hometown just because they come here every summer.

Second big event in July is the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on the 15th. I've talked about Harry a lot lately and I apologize if that's not your thing, but I will also bring it up many times in the near future so you're just gonna have to deal.

Third might just be the most important event of all because it's MY 21st BIRTHDAY!!!! I have it pretty much narrowed down to going wine tasting on that day so I'm excited. I figured it'd be something my whole family (including grandparents) could do together. Keepin' it classy ;)

July also brings one of my best friends Samantha's birthday on the 16th, which sadly she'll still be overseas for. As well as my brother's birthday on the 29th. I'm hoping July also consists of such activities as swimming in the freezing cold waters of the bay, bonfires, a haircut, some shopping, more trips to Moomers, hopefully a Decemberist concert, seeing friends that I haven't seen in too long, a few dance classes, painting, and just a month packed full of adventures.

I hope your July is adventurous as well! Peace out for now.
